Grief Counseling


Grief counseling becomes necessary when a person feels so disabled by their grief and sorrow to the extent that their normal coping processes are disarmed and shut down.

When coping with grief a person may go through all kinds of emotions. Grief counseling facilitates the expression of emotion and thoughts about the loss. Typical emotions one experiences during this time are sadness, anxiety, guilt, confusion, anger, loneliness, numbness, exhaustion and emptiness.

Grief counseling will assist in thinking creatively about the challenges that generally follow loss and to help cope with concurrent changes in their lives. The grieving process take s time and the healing process usually happens gradually.

Issues addressed:

  • Bereavement due to the death of loved one

  • Loss due to separation/divorce/a move

  • Job or career loss

  • Loss of a pet

  • Life threatening illness of self or loved one
