Executive Director

Diane Zicarelli received a Master's Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Her professional experience includes work with adolescents at Carrier Foundation and Charter Behavioral Health Systems as well as Crisis Intervention at Irvington General Hospital. She has volunteered time to the American Anorexia / Bulimia Association and has lectured to elementary, junior and high school students regarding eating disorders. At the Center, Ms. Zicarelli's work focuses on providing individual, group, and family therapy. She coordinates a statewide school prevention program and has given presentations at schools and professional conferences throughout New Jersey in addition to appearing as a guest on TV, radio, and cable discussing eating disorders and recovery. Ms. Zicarelli recovered from her own battle while a young women with anorexia nervosa, and is devoted to the prevention, education, early intervention and recovery of eating disorders.

Child Study Team Consultant


Joan Runfola received her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas in 1975. Her work experience includes positions with the Community Guidance Center of San Antonio, Texas, Child and Family Services of Austin, Texas, and Cancer Care, Inc. of Millburn, NJ. Ms. Runfola is experienced in providing individual, group and family counseling for a variety of psychological, emotional, psychodynamic, and behavioral difficulties. She specializes in helping people learn to use their own spirituality and inner guidance as part of their healing process.


Joyce M. Mermini received her Masters of Social Work degree from New York University. Following, she received training in Crisis Intervention and Rational Emotive Therapy (Rational Counseling). Her professional experience includes The Bridge Community Counseling Center of Caldwell, The PEACE Center of Livingston and Family Preservation Services of Irvington, focusing on counseling and community awareness, education in the areas of crisis intervention, domestic violence, substance abuse and eating disorders. She has volunteered for the American Anorexic/Bulimia Association.

Ms. Mermini presently provides psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, couples and families. Through an empowering based perspective she focuses on a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, stress management, self esteem enhancement, as well as life transition management. Her expertise is in the area of eating disorders. She facilitates a group for adults, and additionally, counsels mothers addressing their unique challenges of motherhood and positive self care.

As her three children are getting older, Lisa decided it was time to do something to bring positive changes to peoples lives. Earning her Certified Coaching certificate through the World Coaching Institute, Lisa continues to enhance her coaching profession with classes in Relationship, Life, and eventually, Youth, Family, and Parenting.

Lisa is also the Office Manager at The Center, overseeing the day to day operations of billing, claims, phone calls, intakes, and insurance issues.
